A unique and singular artistic style
My work is characterised by a distinctive artistic style, recognisable by its compositions of bold black and white outlines, its often vibrant colours, and a highly personal touch which, regardless of the subject, gives my paintings their depth, volume and dimension. My painting stems from an exploration that unites the real and the abstract, where the ever-underlying contemporary composition contributes to the work itself.
I do not seek to represent things faithfully, but to extract the essence of a subject, an atmosphere, from which I draw inspiration: here a tree, there a flower, and I transform them into a freer form, where creation takes centre stage. It is no longer a matter of figuration but of suggestion; by freeing myself from reality, I flirt with the real whilst playing with forms and volumes, inventing the greater part of the subject...
The importance of white
Each work is first built upon a series of preparatory sketches. Then, once I have studied my composition, I make way for an open, sensitive interpretation, where the viewer’s gaze completes what is no longer fully shown.
I paint spaces that refuse to be confined within their boundaries.
White is no longer a boundary, but a breath of fresh air. What escapes becomes essential: a fragile opening onto a vaster world, almost invisible, yet deeply felt.
And in this momentum, the gaze is no longer content merely to see; it seeks, it drifts, it invents its own paths, finding, beyond the frame, an intimate space in which to discover, or even recognise, itself...
The lines
The lines contribute to the infinite weave of a rising universe, in an uncertain space where the painter's gaze creates what the viewer's can only guess at: the very essence of the subject.
Here’s an artist who has found her own style: impressive, powerful works, carried by a harmony of pure colors from which seem to spring lines that are both figurative and poetic, and that flirt unabashedly with abstraction.
These are works with a strong “presence”, titillating the imaginary from the real.
