oil painting workshop in Nouvelle Aquitaine
In Lot et Garonne (47) 16-17-18 July 2027
Leaving soon for the land of prunes
In the heart of the Greater Southwest, ideally located in the center of Lot-et-Garonne (47)—known as the land of prunes— the town of Villeneuve-sur-Lot—a 13th-century medieval bastide—is the cradle of medieval villages with stone and half-timbered buildings, surrounded by fields of sunflowers and poppies, where sunshine and warmth set the rhythm for the song of cicadas and crickets.

After a small snack was served so we could say our goodbyes in a joyful and cheerful atmosphere…
ALLA PRIMA Technique
Working with wet paint allows colors to blend even on the canvas, creating color washes for soft, light effects… and, above all, vibrant ones…
*Alla prima: literally meaning “in the first instance,” that is, just as the Impressionists sought the “vibrant” effect of the subject, painting “alla prima” means while the paint is still wet… capturing the essence of the subject, so to speak…
Contrasts and Sparkles
Approaching the subject matter, making it dynamic to better develop the light and shadow, capture the contrasts, and give your subject a unique radiance…
Learning to create a balanced composition and succeed in oil painting through a good preliminary sketch…
All of these are essential elements for creating a beautiful oil painting that is vibrant, powerful, and harmonious.
Capturing Beauty
During this oil painting workshop in Lot-et-Garonne, you’ll learn how to approach and capture the beauty of a bouquet, fruit baskets, or other seasonal subjects, and how to bring out their full radiance through the use of light and shadow, their volume through contrasts, and their natural beauty—as you personally perceive and interpret it…
This will be our focus throughout this workshop, which is designed to be friendly and welcoming, where everyone can express themselves at their own pace, at their own level, and with respect for one another.
